RankUp #7 – Top Stories: SEO for Gov Data, E-A-T & the 80/20 Principle

Posted on August 19, 2020 by admin

In this, the seventh episode of RankUp, Helen Freeman joins us as our guest for the month. Helen is the only person in Impression’s SEO team to have moved across from our PPC team, and brought a unique perspective on the digital marketing industry, which we explored over two episodes.

This episode was another of our Top Stories editions, in which we discuss recent SEO news and opinions. There was a lot to choose from for this particular episode, but we settled on three topics that gave us a nice cross-section of theory and recent events. Here are the articles we discussed:

UK Government – Search engine optimisation (SEO) for data publishers: Best practice guide

Cyrus Shepard – Is Google E-A-T actually a ranking factor?

Nathan Ifill – Keyword Performance Report – Google Ads Script

We’ll be back in two weeks with Helen’s Knowledge Panel episode, in which we talked about moving to SEO from PPC, integration between the channels and making SEO processes more efficient.

In the meantime, we really appreciate any reviews and shares to help grow the show’s profile. We’d also love to hear any SEO questions you want to discuss on the show – you can get in touch with Ben and Edd on Twitter at @BenJGarry and @EddJTW.

Listen to the episode above or on your podcast app of choice.
